nyc: I am trying to find how much someone paid for a single family residence in NYC back in the 70's and I don't know exactly where to look. I check the property tax assessor website and could not find that information, is that information available?|||Some tax assessors have that information available and some do not. You can contact a realtor that has access to the MLS system, and there you can find any information for previous sales that were listed on MLS. Unfortunately if the home was sold by owner, it may be almost impossible to find the information. You could check the county property records and look for where deeds/titles were recorded. If a loan was taken out for the property then you would be able to find the note through property records searches. It may take a trip to the courthouse though depending on where you live.
